Motorcycle
Motorcycle: Eight months ago, the tiny town of Sunland Park was raided and ran-sacked by a renegade motorcycle club. Property damage was high, and Bernie Sills' wife was crippled. The town, and Bernie, still simmer in their bitterness when Joe Wesley and Nick Keeley -- members of an accredited AMA cycle club -- stop there for something to eat. Bernie orders them out at gunpoint; a fight ensues. When an officer gives chase, his is killed in the resultant accident, caused by a truck driver failing to stop. Bernie and his wife testify to Dan that Keeley and West caused the trouble. Sills even tries to turn Keeley's and Wesley's own cycle club against them. Mathews sends two HP officers into Sunland Park, dressed as motorcycle bums. The bitter scene is repeated as Bernie again tries to run them out at gunpoint.

Blast Area Copter
Blast Area Copter: Jim Barnaby, a fugitive gunman, has taken Marge Willis captive for the use of her car. When the car runs out of gas, they wander unwittingly into an area that the HP has cleared for a gigantic blasting project -- the first step in building a state flood basin. Mathews, cruising the danger zone in the HP copter, flushes out the elusive gunman after the signal for the blast has been given. In a futile attempt to get away, Barnaby knocks out the copter's radio giving Mathews no way to postpone the blast. The copter's limited capacity makes it necessary for Dan to remain with his prisoner in the danger zone while the copter takes Marge to safety. With seconds ticking away till blast-time, Dan cannot be sure if the copter will return for him, or if it has succeeded in transmitting the "hold" signal.

Dead Patrolman: The patrol car of a traffic officer is found abandoned on a country road. Investigation by Dan develops that the officer had been killed by two criminals who were engaged in a stolen car racket. Mathews learns that the deceased patrolman had been pursued by a car belonging to a Miss Theo Carter which had been repainted. Miss Carter at first denied knowledge of the auto but subsequently admitted that she had loaned it to her friend, Larry Gardner. Thus with the ruse of using Miss Carter as well guarded bait, Mathews is able to capture the criminal although not until after complications due to an unexpected action by Miss Carter.

The boy's physician informs Dan that an immediate operation is necessary to preserve Jimmy's sight. Dan orders an all-out search for Jimmy. Jimmy is heading to Lake Dawson, 75 miles away. A truck driver notifies HP after almost hitting Jimmy. Jimmy takes up with a hitchhiking tramp. The tramp, unaware of the boy's condition, but not wanting to be involved with a runaway, sends Jimmy into a remote and dangerous area. When the roadblock fails, Dan Mathews sends his men along secondary roads to look for the escape car. Dan and Johnson find it near the farmhouse.
